Scummathon 2008

With the xbox out of action and any other possible console gaming postponed until I’ve got my HDTV back, something must fill the void. Now I’ve been playing Team Fortress 2 loads, with some particularly good screenshots. But I need something else, it’s a pure class game and I need something in stark contrast to it.
Queue Scummvm. For those of you who don’t know, scummvm is an emulator for playing old point and click adventures on the PC with no speed or driver issues. These games were my first forray into PC gaming and I love them dearly. Starting with Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis (get outta my way you darwinian nightmare), all the way up to the never forgettable Grim Fandango (forgotton a good quote :P).
I shall be starting my campaign with Flight of the Amazon Queen, a great game that I never actually completed, so it’s an ideal candidate. If I manage to see this through I shall be doing regular updates with game reviews and remarks on the whole experience with reference to my childhood.
Wish me luck…
I reckon you'll get bored of them and return to hi-res action before long.
One game i really loved, was interstate, or something like that. Would like to try that again.
Would also like to play monkey island again at some point.
